VLADIMIR ZORIN Algae From our origins in the world of nature we have created our own world of civilisation. Nowadays, these two worlds exist side by side, practically independent of one another. But it is not impossible to imagine that between them there might be hidden some kind of reciprocal interaction, the signs of which are not currently visible, and neither is it known in what form they will break out. It might lead to the birth of some sort of new world in which the characteristics of each become combined. I present my own visual hypothesis: an art work in the wilderness. On a snowy, rocky island in the Norwegian Sea there grows bright green plastic grass; luminous cube-shaped flowers bloom among water-lilies; and mysterious ‘schemoglyph’ diagrams appear on the surface of the cliff at Äänisjärvi.
