LIISI HUOTARI JA TUULIA RIVASTO Shapes of Flower Meadows This work is a project which changes and develops as time goes on. Its aim is to follow the growth and spread of meadow flowers and the animal life that might be attracted there, as well as to draw attention to the cycle, variety and complexity of nature. We have planted meadow flower seedlings on the shore of Halikko Bay and also sown seeds, thereby creating two separate areas. We hope that year on year the flowers will spread, enlarging the area and attracting animal life such as invertebrates and various small animal species, thus adding to the natural diversity. Flowers have been chosen that are suitable for a dry meadow – harebells, stonecrop, cornflowers, daisies, poppies, cowslips, etc. – about 25 different kinds in all. We are also building stone constructions to protect the flowers, and there is an information board which describes the project in detail.
